The only problem I have with this list it's that it's mostly console games. As a lifetime PC fan I guess i would have voted for Fallout, but since it's not here, my vote goes to Warcraft!

This would have to be an entirely different poll, methinks. Not only would Fallout have to be there but Sims/SimCity, Call of Duty, Battlefield....etc. etc.
As far as consoles go, the Halo series beats pretty much anything in my book. Nothing comes close to the sheer volume of players online. I prefer faced paced action in multiplayer games where you can beat people from all over the world... RPG's just don't cut it for me..
Don't get me wrong though, I loved the entire Zelda series, not so much the newer ones, but going back when it was for GBC.
Metal Gear, no doubt. Compelling and linear story throughout, incredible gameplay, extremely multi-dimensional gameplay.
SPOILER SCROLL DOWN IF YOU HAVEN'T BEATEN
Who would have thought the first time you met him in MGS1 that Ocelot would be the man to save the world? What this series speaks to with regards to destiny vs free will, the concept of a hero, and the idea of what it is to be a soldier are as philosophically in depth as a video game has ever gotten (though I haven't yet played Bioshock and anxiously await its PS3 release) and will forever define how I look at war.
I think i'm the only person in this world that hasn't played any final fantasy games.
but from the list, i choose zelda.
