Has anyone done such relevant recordings?

https://youtu.be/um-Mtnmrb0k

Must I use a GoPro or can I use a cheaper camera? In essence, what specs I’m I looking for? Especially if I want to cut some stills up and make it as wallpaper or actual photos.

I have a vague understanding that the quality of my stills or even video is related to the frame rate or the speed of my vehicle. . Are there any affordable video cameras out there that can do what I want?

Also, what other technicalities do I have to consider? (Ie bumpy road, on highway.. is the frame rate sufficient enough not to create a blur still or at least contain frames that are not blur?)

There’s so much beauty even on the road, I hope to capture some to create reminders/memories!

The lower you have the camera mounted, the "faster" your speed will appear.

Like this...

(This isn't fast.) The rider on the R1 behind me, she wanted a video of herself, riding up Palomar Mountain.

So many choices from drones, to smart phones to dedicated video cams to laptops with web cams ..... high resolution video recording is every where.

As far as video stability, look for a gimbal stabilizer to mount the video cam of your choice to.

I have a dashcam that can take stills while in the recording mode...
Just push the correct "button" while driving, altho not advisable...!

The dashcam was 29 green ones and is part of my homemade system in my car, which consists out of a small rearview cam, two small side-view cams, and the dashcam, which is the size of a point and shoot camera. The rearview cam is activated by the reverse gear and the side cameras by the appropriate directional signal. During normal driving, all cameras are being recorded (no idea how it does it, but I do not care). When backing up, only the rearview cam shows on the 7-inch screen. The same with left or right turns. Only the right or left camera shows up when going left or right.
The strange thing is that the playback feature is at twice the regular speed, so you need an editor that can slow down the playback speed.

Just to satisfy my curiosity...
Who watched the whole 5 boring hours??
