Where in central Va would you suggest looking for a home with a couple of acres under $70,000? We'd like to be within commuting distance from Lynchburg. Most of the reasonably priced homes in that area seem to be in town, which is not what we want at all. Any ideas?

Default Younger Estates in Gladys??

What I'm looking for is more in-depth info about which areas of Lynchburg and which of the nearby towns we should avoid, which we should persue, which have lower taxes, which have more crime, what the neighborhood ethnicities are, etc. For instance, there are several listings of homes for sale in Gladys, Va in a subdivision called Younger Estates that look like nice homes and are very inexpensive. Since they're all in one area, I want to know if theres something wrong with that area, or any reason they're priced so reasonably. Anyone know this, or any other info like that?
