We are 2 female veterans who would like to find a community of mainly retired people, near bus lines, movies, shopping, etc. Anyone out there able to suggest a place? We are in Texas right now.

All these are in Virginia and are highly rated and listed with the Retirement Resorts.(http://www.retirementresorts.com (broken link)) I hope you find this information helpful and good luck in your new move.

There is a Del Webb retirement community near Fredericksburg, VA, called Falls Run. We used to live in Northern Virginia, went to see this location, it is VERY nice. The website for Falls Run is: http://www.delwebb.com/homefinder/Community.aspx?ID=100061 (broken link)

The website for Del Webb Homes (part of Pulte) is: http://www.delwebb.com/Default.aspx (broken link)

We visited several Del Webb retirement towns, including one in Georgetown, TX, near Austin. Website is: http://www.delwebb.com/homefinder/Community.aspx?ID=100011 (broken link)

We're not in the real estate or building business in any way, just trying to help.
