I've been thinking about taking a trip to Virginia in early November. I wanted to know if Virginia Beach is cold at that time of year. I don't necessarily want to swim but walk on the beach and maybe sit on the beach to relax. Will it be too cold for that?

That's hard to say Jaybird. How cold is too cold for you? I have seen early November in the 40's to the upper 70's. It all depends on the weather conditions on that particular day. This link from wunderground charts the average highs and lows during the year. Form your own conclusions based on your particular comfort zone.

As a native here anything under 50 degress is cold to me, but if your from up North and are used to the cold it probably wont be that bad. In any event, it will be very relaxing in November. The tourist are gone, cheaper hotel rates, the ocean/wind mix togethor. You should make the trip. Have fun!

Agreed. Altogether, the Oceanfront is WAY more enjoyable when it's not so crowded.
