Well I learned today that I was accepted to Virginia Tech's graduate school this fall at the Blacksburg campus! I am very excited! Time to plan and save for the big move back across country!

Congrats! I'd be very curious how you like it, especially since you're moving there from the Phoenix area.

I graduated from Arizona State University and attended Graduate School at Virginia Tech. This was a long time ago (I graduated from Tech in 1972), however I've been to Blacksburg many times over the years and am continually amazed at how much the school has changed and is changing. Virginia Tech has an absolutely beautiful campus and the school spirit there is quite amazing. Blacksburg people are the best--warm, friendly and helpful. I loved Virginia Tech when I went to school there, and I love it still.

I last visited Phoenix in 1980 and was astounded at how much the city had grown since I left in 1970. The traffic and "spread-out" nature of the city then (1980) was unbelievable. I can only imagine what it must be like today! You'll find Roanoke/Blacksburg to be a whole different world.
