I was just wondering about some of the towns in Virginia. I've been doing extensive research on this site and have a few towns in mind but was wondering about people who have experienced it! I am going to school in D.C. so I only want to live about and hour out, but I'd like a place with low crime rate and a smaller town feel. I'm tired of the big city!! Any advice on where to look?

Thanks!

If you're going to/from DC duing rush hours, roughly 6:30-9:30am and 3:30-7pm, an hour won't get you as far as you might imagine. Warrenton might fit the bill, and if you're looking for something even smaller, there are plenty in outer Loudoun and Fauquier Couties: Waterford, Lovettsville, Upperville, The Plains, Marshall, etc.

I would say that living close enough to attend school in DC and live in place with low crime rate and a smaller town feel can be something very hard to combine.

You might enjoy some place like Leesburg or Warrenton, VA. Its in the heart of horse country and its a bit more laid back then the immediate DC area.
