Hello, i'm a single young adult male with no kids (so School District is of minimal concern to me).

I'm looking for a community of newer detached single-family HOUSES with 2-3 bedrooms. My price range is between $100k-150k.

Any recommendations on where to look into?

Yeah thats pretty much impossible..
100-150K won't even get you a townhouse in the ghetto in PG county.

Wow, is the DC market this inflated too?

Ok, let's just say 150k-250k.

300K+ is more realistic and thats still townhome range.
If you want a new, detached 2-3 bedroom house in a safe area its gonna run you up to the 400-500k range.

DC area has a very high cost of living the market here is almost on par with NYC.

Unless online real estate sites are 50% off on their sale prices, there are tons of homes in PG in the $150k - $250k range and in safe neighborhoods. Try Trulia.com. Better than zillow in my opinion.

There are houses in Fort Washington west of Indian Head Highway that would be in the right price range. They aren't new, but the neighborhood would cerrainly be safe.

Very true, there are also some townhomes off of Kerby Parkway in Fort Washington that is close to this price range and there are also some brand new Townhome-style Condominiums in Oxon Hill off of St. Barnabas Road that start at 180k.

To the OP we need a lot more information:

What part of PG are you trying to stay?
Do you need to be near the metro/DC/major highways?
What communities amenities are you looking for?
Is the 100k-150k an ideal range, or is that all your budget will allow?

Safe meaning that you don't go by meaning if you're not a drug dealer/addict/thug/gangbanger/thief, then you should be fine. If you like to hang out on the street corner and drink beer where the drug dealers hang out, then maybe you won't be so safe.

Someone said that is not a good price, but actually it is. Many houses and new townhouses only have 2 master bedroom suites, and they are a nightmare to sell!!! They were designed with the D.C. crowd/lifestyle in mind, but those people love city life! Families live in the burbs, so they banked on the wrong thing. So yes, you can get a lovely place if you truly want a 2 bedroom home. Negotiate down to what you can afford, because the 2 bedroom homes are NOT selling. As a young man, living alone in this area is not the "norm". So advertise for a roomie, and then you will really secure the type of home you would like and make new connections.
The world is at your feet. D.C. is an awesome place to be. Enjoy!!
