What are some good preschools in Rockville and surrounding areas? I dont mind a drive but want a really good school with no red necks.

I can't vouch for them, but I read good things about Georgetown Hill School in another forum. It's off Nelson Dr. in the Woodley Gardens neighborhood.

Can you define red neck? Do you mean country type folks or racist type folks. You won't find a lot of country folk in Rockville. However, racists can be anywhere you go and they aren't necessarily "red necks."

Ha! what exactly is a redneck. I didn't think "redneck" and "Rockville" could even be in the same sentence together. . .sort of like "Potomac" and "poor"!

to address your question - check out this website for ideas. There are so many preschools - the only one I would personally recommend is in outer Silver Spring at New Hampshire and Norwood (Lutheran Church of St. Andrew). I'm sure there are many more great ones out there, though.

Preface

This will provide you, by county, a list of MSDE certified non-public schools, of which preschools that are certified by the state should fall under.

Rockville Community Nursery School www.RCNScoop.org is where my daughter goes. In her class of 8 kids last year there were 9 languages spoken at home. (Some kids like mine are English only, but there's lots of variety in the backgrounds of the children.) I'd guess that most Rockville nursery schools are similarly diverse, though, unless you go wth a church school that has a more narrow population. Rockville Community Nursery School - Preschool, Day Care & Preschool - Rockville, MD | Facebook is their facebook page.

I just love it when somebody puts their criteria up front and bluntly instead of trying to couch it in PC terms ! (and I would consider myself a bit of a former redneck).

Are there rednecks in Rockville? I have also never heard of those two words being in the same sentence.

I saw one once, driving up Rockville Pike heading north, in a large red expensive truck, with a huge pair of trucknuts on the back (first ones I've seen in MD) and the nekkid mirrored lady figures on the back window. No kids in the back, so I don't think you need to worry about the preschools...
