I was wondering if anyone could define what a "revolving shift" is? I just interviewed for a position that requires a revolving shift at Boeing, Patuxent River MD. I asked at the interview but it was very vague. Please help.
Also, This position is for a Test Evaluation Lab Technician.....I was wondering how the working environment is working in that position and what the stress levels are? Thank you.

Sounds to me like on some days you may work 7am-3pm. Other days you may work 3pm-7pm. Other days 11pm - 11am, etc.

Typically (we called it swing shift) you go from Day shift, to 3-11, to night shift.

I worked in the space industry for years in satellite operations; a 24/7/365 job. Swing shifts are typical of how those positions are staffed. A few places I worked at had three set shifts; day, evening or night. Either works once you get used to it. I wouldn't want to do it again, although the pay is good.

Some people like it because it can be rather flexible if you juggle days with coworkers and enjoy a week off rather than just a weekend.

As far as stress levels...that job title is vague and covers a lot of bases. Who knows what you are testing and what your part is? Off shift jobs are usually low stress unless you are learning to juggle live rattlesnakes.
