Wilson in March said that the company wants employees in four separate locations to work in one place, which would promote “synergy.”
From what I gathered, they want to consolidate into a newer building/campus where they can attract millennials which I guess aren't in good supply in Sparks, MD. So, it sounds like they are looking to move closer to urban environments, and yet still be within reasonable distance to BWI. That tells me they are still willing to stay in MD, but have opened up the bidding to other states to create competition and make the deal sweeter for them. That puts the opportunity squarely in MD's hands if it wants to keep them in the state or not. It is certainly possible. But I don't think they put out the RFI because they were unhappy with the business climate in MD. Why mention BWI and not ANY international airport in the states mentioned?

They are waiting to see just how much Maryland wants them to stay. If the desire is not high enough they are going to go with the State that offers the most lucrative package.

Personally, my opinion is that the company should move to a Minneapolis suburb; perhaps teaming up with Spam for mock "crab balls". Joking aside, Minneapolis/Minnesota has far more experience with global food corporations and treats their Fortune 500 (fourteen of which are Global 2000 companies) a heck of a lot better.

Where ever they go perhaps it will be the final acknowledgement that the business climate in this State is the pits... after they leave...and they will leave.

...??? What's the issue? You wanted to know the company's motivation and the article tells you. Adelphi posted it for you. Now I've posted it for you. Is this a literacy problem or something?

You didn't answer the question which you were asked: "Why are they considering moving?". All you did was regurgitate the original talking points memo about BWI, etc.

Correct. They're looking to consolidate their workforce into a single building or a single campus as well as attract a younger workforce. Are you trying to say these are fabricated reasons or something?

No. What are you trying to prove?

This is a weird conversation. I don't get what you're attempting to argue with me over. Oh well.

Aeroguy asked a legitimate question, if the move might be related to the overall business climate in MD. It was a speculative question.

You then insulted him.

He asked his speculative question (the legitimacy of the intentionally incendiary and baseless lob of a comment is highly debatable). I said he should read the article/Adelphi's post which clearly outline what the company's motivations are. He said he didn't see where the article talks about it. I pasted the relevant section. He said I didn't know what I was talking about and should shutup. I asked him what the issue was as I literally copied and pasted exactly what he asked for.

Now should I summarize our equally odd exchange? I feel like this thread has brought me to the twilight zone or something. I'm moving on with my life now, so bye.

If proximity to BWI is their number one concern than I would bet that they would consolidate their operations at one of the large office parks located near BWI in Anne Arundel County.

That being said though if they are just looking for a large international airport with direct flights than they would just as likely relocate out of state to either NOVA or even Atlanta, Houston, or Dallas-Ft. Worth.
