i'm looking for a rental within 15-20 miles of the county complex in upper marlboro, but trying to stay away from the congestion on the west side, heading towards DC.

in looking at places such as Dunkirk or White Plains, or Lothian, what are the morning commutes like, since there's only Route 50 and 4 as the major arteries that lead into the county complex right off Route 4?

IOW, if i'm within 15 to 20 miles, and have to be at work by 9:00, is leaving at 8 going to work?

I've heard the congestion is so bad, by all the folks trying to get into DC, that a 20 miles commute on 50 and 4 can take an hour and a half, or more if there's an accident. does anyone know the lay of the land, so to speak, regarding the commuter traffic?

thanks.
