Can anyone tell me if this is a safe area and what to expect. It falls within the 20906 zipcode so I was not sure. I am wondering specifically about the neighborhoods around the junction of Randolph and Georgia. I know there is a Metro stop there. That is a good thing, right?

Safe is a relative term... Coming from DC that area is safe, coming from a more rural laid back town, you would probably think you are in the ghetto... A metro stop is good for getting into the city but bad for commuting and it typically attracts a bad crowd... The glenmont station is not too bad though... I am not a fan of Silver Spring I lived there when I was younger...

Thanks! I saw another thread where someone said there was a police station nearby so I figured that would curtail some of the crime but I could be wrong. I looked at a crime map and did not see anything out of the ordinary but I just do not know having not driven through the area myself and not being in a position to do so. I may send a friend who lives in the district to scout it for me but hearing from locals is always a good thing.
