Hi! Moving to start work on Aug. 9 and found a good place in Dupont Circle but I can't move in until Aug. 16. So, I need somewhere for the week before. I need a kitchen of sorts and easy public transportation, I'll be working near the Capitol. Hoping to stay under $1000 for the week. Suggestions?

One of the regulars on here will probably offer a room for you to crash.

I found a weekly vacation rental as a possibility. Looks like the Crestwood Apartments at 16 st NW. Online reviews seem relatively ok and description of Crestwood in general seems generally positive. Waiting for a call back from the owner to kind of gauge how it'll be dealing with this person, but apparently the bus stops right outside the apartments every 5 minutes (or so the ad says).

Decent place?

You can stay in a hotel near a metro station, in Crystal City, for example, or this one: http://www.econolodge.com/hotel-arli...?promo=gglocal
