I've noticed people on these city data forums now require this in any prospective place they live. It's like they've been trained to say this or or to believe they want this, by someone--the media, or the group conformity of these forums. I have the feeling they don't even believe this, it's just something they say because everyone else says it too.

So you can read minds and know the hidden motivations behind what people say? That's pretty cool.

Or maybe people just have different priorities than you.

Because they probably come from areas that do not offer culture or diversity.

Yeah, it's a little annoying sometimes.

When people talk about diversity as a place to move, there are usually talking Token Diviversity. "Some, but not too much."

Those things are just in demand. I mean what are they supposed to say they want?

Thank you for the enlightened responses.

Diversity is not the norm throughout history, or in most places outside the US and and some parts of Europe today. Diversity was introduced artificially. So diversity is similar to to junk food.

Diversity is still not the norm. Maybe city-data just attracts more people outside the norm. I'm no research scientist so don't have all the answers. I like living somewhere that has diversity as well. I think that's what makes living in the DC area interesting. Although I've always said that the suburbs of DC are much more diverse than the city. Which is interesting because usually urban centers are where one goes for diversity but not so much in this area. Although the city is changing so I'm sure I'll sing a different tune in 2025.

I doubt it. Although I was talking more about where people choose to live versus the possible economic situation of the 2020s.
