From Alexandria? Better bet would be GW to Memorial bridge, Ohio Dr around and make their way to the Whitehurst and from there to Canal Rd. However, if they're making the commute in the AM, and back in the pm, then Canal Rd won't work since it s reversible at those times.

Hi everyone, thank you so much for the responses. As per life, things have changed for me and I will have a great deal of flexibility come February in working from home. Could you all suggest good places to live in the Alexandria area? I have heard that Kingstowne is a nice area, any comments on that? Also is it true that Alexandria gets flooded often?
