I currently live in Brentwood, and am thinking of looking at an apartment in the Carver/Langston neighborhood. The rent is an attractive price, but I'm wondering if that's because of the neighborhood itself. Mostly, a safety issue.
As I said, I live in Brentwood (near the many public housing complexes). If the general feel of the neighborhood is about the same, I don't think I would mind living in Carver/Langston for a year or so. I don't have a car that could be broken into, I lock my apartment doors, and come home during daylight hours. But, if more 'intense' than Brentwood, it probably won't be for me.
The lack of metro is not a deal breaker for me, as long as walking during commuting hours is a good idea.
Just wondering if anyone has any current experience in the area. Thanks!
Thanks for the replies, everyone. You know the saying--if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is! My search continues.
