Hey all,
I am not in DC proper often during the week. I have dinner plans with some friends in Gallery Place a week night there is a Caps game (in case that effects suggestions), and I was curious what there is to do around that area after dinner? I think museums and such close early, but I am always up to explore a bit. Ok, and I am a bit interested in a friend of a friend who is going to dinner. So a handy suggestion of something nice/fun/interesting to check out after the group dinner would be appreciated

There are tons of bars. There are some cheap ones more for younger people like Green Turtle (F st) and Red Light (G st). There are also classier ones like Legal Seafood (7th street) and Matchbox (H st) that are more fitting for a date.
People-watching is always a fun activity around Gallery Place, especially while sitting on the steps of the Portrait Gallery. It's cold as hell out though, so I would sit inside the Starbucks by the Walgreens at the 7th & H intersection and watch every interesting individual and group in the heart of the City go by into unknown directions and the street performers, musicians, and religious disciples do their thing. It's even better when it's warm out, trust me.
People watching is pretty cool though around Gallery Place. Also, there are some live entertainment near the Chinatown Metro, and the crazy black Muslim group that slurs how much they hate all other race than black through their loud speaker time to time.
There are some really good musicians around metro that I found out, especially Pentagon metro. Tons of bars.
DC is really like drink, eat small, walk, drink, eat small, meet people, and everyone ends up at either U street, Dupont, or H street near Adam's Morgan, and either go home alone or somebody.
When the weather is nice, the courtyard bar at Poste, the restaurant at Hotel Monaco, is a really cool spot. It's spacious and lively, and attracts a good looking crowd.
I take that back. Come drink with me at Clydes at Gallery Place.
1. You'll probably have a great time.
2. We'll have tons of laughs and I know all the good bartenders.
3. I might pick up the tab.
4, I will handcuff you to me to make sure you don't drive drunk.
We can call whole bunch of people, and they know people that knows more people, then it's 5 am, and we're getting out of a place that just closed, because those people know those places that don't close at 3am.

This sounds like my kind of night out!
