My Grandmother, now deceased, had a son sometime during 1920-1930 (most likely 1921-1927). She gave that child up for adoption. No records have been found. My Grandmother's first name was Agnes. Family lore says the child was taken to New York, but we have no confirmation of this. We have no history about this. The child was born in either Washington, DC, or Orange, VA. We have not been able to locate potential birth certificates with my Grandmother's last name at either location. Please contact me if you suspect you may know something about this. Thank you for reading this post.

Crazy question....have you used www.ancestry.com? Lots of catalogued personal documents that often lead to a persons whereabouts and circumstances over the course of their life.
