I was wondering if anyone knew of an excellent realtor for buying in Chevy Chase DC/MD. In the past we have not had good luck with realtors. Typically we did much of the leg work, they opened the lockbox and provided the contract and were paid generously for it. Our next purchase will be our most important yet, as we have to sons now (just 6 months old now) and that will weigh heavily into our decision making process. We are currently living in NW DC, close to the hustle and bustle of Gallery Place, in a rowhouse. We know the city well as we have lived here for 8 years. We know we want to be in upper NW (Chevy Chase, AU Park, Friendship Heights, Barnaby Woods or just over the line MD). What we would like in a realtor is someone with lots of experience in these areas, knowledge of the schools and their boundaries, someone who could assist in deciding whether to sell or rent our current house, someone with knowledge of the economics, not just a saleswo/man. We are not in any rush. And were thinking we would begin seriously looking next Spring, but I would like to start thinking about the process and talk to someone about the finances and economics of buying and selling.

Posted in both the DC and MD forums.

Realtors are salespeople. I suggest finding an accountant.
