My partner and I are planning to move into Northern Virginia, somewhere along the Toll Road/Rt. 7 corridor. She works in Purcellville, and I work in downtown DC. We are trying to find a median point where we can both get to work in under 45 minutes, her by car, me by Metro/bus. Can anyone give us some insight as to where we would be best off in terms of quiet neighborhoods within our commuting times? How long does it realistically take to commute by Fairfax Connector/Metro from Reston/Herndon to Faragut West?
Thanks for any help you can offer.
oh man- did you open a can of worms. Those are the two extreme points in the DC metro area. Reston is a good compromise- there is a bus in reston that goes right into DC. I don't know if it will take under 45 minutes in rush hour. And no one can guarentee that it will take 45 minutes to get to purcellville in less than 45 minutes in rush hour. There aren't many alternative routes to get to purcellville. But you are looking in the right location.
