Trying to cross the street in DC today, rolling thunder is coming by, with their pseudo police escort of PG county police cars, which have ZERO authority here, holding up traffic like they were an official convoy, running red lights. I had to wait 10 minutes to cross the damn street. If you're going to do something like that, why not get actual police to block the streets? People could have been killed.

I'm pretty sure Arlington PD wouldn't let PG PD do that unless they did have jurisdiction.

This has got to be good for the local economy. I'm sure other cities would kill to get a group this large come to their city.

Yes, nothing like having lots of bikers come and drink a lot at bars. Now with a smoking ban, it gets taken outside as well.

Many of those bikers are veterans.

On Memorial Day when we remember those who have died for this country we veterans do. The other 364 days of the year we give to insufferable homers from Virginia.

I had forgotten that the preferred means of celebrating Memorial Day was to wear a leather jacket with a skull on it and drive around city streets on a Harley.

Also, what exactly is your beef with Virginia? No matter *what* the post is about, you decide it's appropriate to bash the state. Did you have some ex-bf or gf from Richmond that was really mean to you?

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the Rolling Thunder guys are also in the Freedom Riders, this organization that goes to soldiers' funerals and makes sure that those sick ****s from the Westboro Baptist Church don't spread their hateful messages. For that I say let 'em ride here all they want, as long as they're within the law
