If you work in OR, don't you get nicked on the OR income tax anyway? Living and working in WA, but doing at least some shopping in OR seems to me to be the best way to "play" it.

Right. A WA resident doesn't pay as much income tax as an OR resident would-- but the WA resident still has a state income tax to pay (whereas if he lived/worked in WA, no income tax but for the Federal).

People I know have their job structured so they telecommute most of the time and are seldom physically in Oregon as far as work even though they are employed by Oregon based companies.
