My family and I are moving to Whidbey Island because my husband is in the Navy. We have an eight year old son who will start fourth grade next school year, and I am inquiring about both public and private schools in Oak Harbor area. I've been reading numerous information about Whidbey Island. From what I have gathered, Oak Harbor is a decent place to live, and the schools are "okay" in comparison to neighboring cities. If there's anyone that is a parent with elementary kids in Oak Harbor, or anyone with thoughts and suggestions to share about Oak Harbor living, I certainly would appreciate it. Thanks!!

According to the OPSI (WA Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction.) Site, Hillocrest ES has the best test scores.

Washington State Report Card

You can compare most schools test scores there. oddly several of the OHSD ES scores are not posted. It may be because they might be on base.

Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction

This site generally is pretty good to serve as a baseline.
