Tired of desert heat, need a change - hear wonderful things about Olympia, only that it rains - from one extreme of sunny daze to constant, but, want to be by Yelm, Wa. Would a divorced 49 year old, no dependents, extroverted and excited to start a new life around water, from what i read, is rather disappointing due to humidity and rain, but, there's no shangralah I've found as I've traveled extensively in my search throughout NA and SA.

Altho you are not equipped with a crystal ball, would an active single 'middleaged' , fun loving gal be happy in Oly or any cities around Yelm? Planning on renting a room first then deciding, but, hate to make the trip of 24 hours to see it before consulting with nice ppl, like hopefully you, who have had a glimpse/reside in Oly or surrounding areas. Worth leaving arizona? HELLLPP! thank you

you might enjoy it Cynthia. Yelm is pretty boring itself (more family oriented), but the surrounding areas have plenty of nightlife for middle aged people (mostly in the Lacey area). Plenty of casinos in the area too.

As a person of similar age, and who has lived in the area before, within the last 5 years. It is a hit or miss area as far as night life goes, but that is me. You have The Red Wind casino, a few night clubs but those are geared toward the younger crowd, however there are plenty of nice taverns if you are into to that. From a cultural standpoint there is a little to choose from.

Outdoor functins, camping, fishing, hiking are always there and it is about 1.5 hours drive to Seattle, depending on traffic.
