My position is that rather and giving opinions, it might be better to look at the numbers as demonstrated by votes specific to gay marriage, an indicator of where they might feel the most comfortable. There are many links, I've posted others in other places, but a simple search will show you what counties supported it and by what margin. Some counties were very supportive, others such as much of Eastern WA, not at all. Since that is the OP's question, it might benefit them to look at specific counties in Eastern WA to possibly get the best outcome.

Anyway, if your goal is to be paraded around as the "gay friend" like you're some sort of accessory, then Western WA is where you want to be. Unfortunately here in Eastern WA many people don't care about your sexuality. Not one bit. So you might not get that same "look at me, I'm cool and hip" vibe that you get on the other side. If you are good people, work hard, pay taxes, don't mind kids and animals you're more than welcome over here.

Now, the million dollar question; How accepting are you of people who have different views?
Great post. Too bad they still won't let me rep you.

I think it's quite a stretch to say that a person who voted "no" to an initiative that changes a centuries-old tradition of heterosexual marriage, also must a person that is outwardly unaccepting and/or hostile to gay people.

You are equating gay marriage acceptance to how people treat gay people, when in reality the two are very different issues. Especially considering that the OP is from Michigan, a state that currently has a ban on gay marriage - so at the very least, Eastern WA would be equal in acceptance to her home state. So, unless she is fleeing Michigan due to bad treatment of LBGT people, then I don't see much difference.

Unless, as aplcr0331 said, she is hoping to parade around in her underwear while partaking in inappropriate public displays of affection. I don't think many places in Eastern WA will go for that.
