While researching Hoquiam I found a few articles from 2005-2007ish in which residents complained about terrible odors coming from a fish meal plant there. Can anyone from the area confirm that this issue has been resolved since then or does Hoquiam still literally stink?

Hoquiam Odor
The only bad odor I have ever noticed in Hoquiam comes from some sort of sawdust or wood waste facility directly next to Home Depot on the west side. When up and running it frequently smells like vinegar to me, but only effects that small portion of Port Industrial Way, and only on some days. The first time I smelled it, it was awful and I thought I could never shop at Depot. In the past 2 years I have either grown used to it, or that was just a particularly nasty day because I drive right down that street and stroll into Home Depot not even caring about the smell, when present, which is maybe 10% of the time.

There is not been a knockout stench from the Ocean Protein, LLC plant for a while now, so I would say that the issue has been resolved.
