I am married to a Japanese national and we moved around NE Tacoma region recently. She was IT project manager in Tokyo. I am trying to figure out what kind of occupation would be available for her in the Seattle region? She did graduate from a university in Japan. She is allowed to work legally in the US. We may try to find work in some bilingual institution that may help Japanese tourist. I am trying to any get recommendations or ideas from anyone who had been in our situation. Thank you

Why can't she apply for an IT position? There are lots of those around.

Universities are a good place to start, and the UW has a branch in Tacoma. Check out their employment listings online. You could look at the website of the Japanese grocer, Uwajimaya, from time to time, to see what type of openings they have.

But I don't see why there would be a need for a special niche for her, OP. Couldn't she compete for jobs in her field, just like everyone else?
