I have no neighbors I can even see from here, but on the 4th, they're all too close.
I have to agree with Diana. The fireworks annoy me more than elicit feelings of excitement. Never really understood the desire to go out and light these things. And they've caused horrible urban and wildfires over the years.

I'm more of a fall/winter person, so for me it's what I consider to be on the cusp of mid-summer and that much closer to September!

My community will no doubt have fireworks, although sadly, it will be an unorganized free-for-all. The big show is cancelled, but I believe the smaller groups who normally congregate in our community during the big show will have their own "shows" with mortars. Not looking forward to it. I live near two reservations and an unorganized show will likely be worse than a scheduled display. Sadly, these groups tend to congregate on the beaches near us and will likely not socially distance.

Our community has cancelled all July 4 events *but* the parade. We're having a "reverse" parade, where floats, bands, etc. will be on the side of the road as folks can drive past to exhibit their presentations. I don't fault the parade committee at all. This is likely the best that we can do given the parameters of social distancing.
