Wondering how difficult of a drive I should be expecting driving to Seattle from Spokane and then back again.

Won't have snow tires or chains...

Maybe it would be better at that time to take the train in terms of not worrying about weather?

You need to wait until closer to that day to see. It could be nice, clear roads, or nasty. I'd say about 60-70% of the years it's more rain than snow there in March, but other years there have been blizzards. If you drive, be prepared even if the forecast is for clear weather, it can change rapidly. If worried bout it, I'd just fly, it's only about $90.

I did that drive twice a week from October to February did not have problems. I agree with Hemlock check towards closer of travel dates. Flying is fine but may mot save you time or money.
