We are moving from southern orange county california to seatle, washington because of a job my husband received there. Our problem is that we dont know much about the area other than the weather (which we love the rain and cold so its fine by us)

We have a toddler, so moving somewhere where there is low crime is very important. We love the outdoors/camping/hiking/trails. We need to find an apartment first so thats important as well. We are fine with a 45 minute commute, we dont want to live in a big busy crime like city!

Any suggestions would be great since we have to move next week!!!

Thanks

You'll need to live near your job. Where is your job? Washington is a very large state, so we can't guess where you might want to live and need to know the city in which the job is located.

Default re:

I believe I mentioned he was working in seattle. Were not sure the exact street but it is in the main seattle area. Weve checked out everett, and lynnwood and they seem to have high crime. We dont mind living 45 minutes away from seattle. We just need to find a city that doesnt have crime and that might be a little more rural so we have the nature around us.

I would suggest Fall City, Snoqualmie, or North Bend. Snoqualmie to downtown Seattle is about a 30 minute commute with minimal traffic along I-90. However, I should mention that the weather is a little more severe out there with more wind and fog, etc, at least in Snoqualmie Ridge. Bainbridge Island might also work, but it is a little more expensive and requires a ferry ride.
