Iskenderun is surprisingly warmer than most places in Sydney. Their summers seem rather hot with warm nights and their winters, albeit cooler during the days, have mild nights. Inland Sydney is still slightly cooler in the summer and the nights in winter are relatively cold. Would you prefer western Sydney over the Turkish city?
But the warmth of Iskenderun would make sense since it's located in the Levant and not Anatolia, geographically speaking. So it will have more in common with Syria and Lebanon, climatically, than most of Turkey.
Places like Anamur, Bodrum are slightly cooler than Ä°skenderun in winter. They are pretty close to Ä°skenderun based on winter averages.
As for inland Sydney, it is better than the regular Sydney with colder winter lows but those hot winter average highs still bother me (hot by winter standards)
Coldest month mean temperatures:
İskenderun: 11.9°C
Anamur: 11.54°C
Bodrum: 11.23°C
Inland Sydney averages a cooler coldest month mean temp than all 3 of them. However, 17.2°C as an average high in the coldest month would be like hell to me but at least, the cool off is fast after the sun is gone, which regular Sydney hadn't offered

There are even cooler places in Sydney in the winter, like Camden and Richmond. So if you want to come to Sydney for a job or something, maybe try living there as they get a lot of frost in the winter.
And yeah, as the suns sets in the inland area, it cools fast whereas Sydney CBD remains relatively warm at nights. Meh for me the cool nights can be bothersome. Our house gets cold too easily. We have poor insulation here.

I think you've forgotten Alanya. It's also up there regarding winter mean temps.
In the years that were used here, Alanya averaged a mean temp of 12.05°C in the coldest month while İskenderun averaged a mean temp of 11.90°C in the coldest month.
0.15°C difference according to the years that were used above.
However, according to the years of 1975-2010, both had averaged 11.8°C in the coldest month. The same.
