Yeah Florida tends to avoid the heatwaves being where it is on a penninsula, surrounded by sea.
I noticed that for the most part temps of 100 are very rare in most of FL. Moreso than even NYC, in say, Miami. Florida seems to have the perfect summer. Not really hot, just pleasantly warm and humid with ample sunshine and a thunderstorm every day to make things interesting.
Summers in the coastal South are the best in the lower 48 IMHO.
No way! Have you forgotten the humidity? What are you talking about?
How come every time there is a northern heat wave or in mid winter you nut cases come out trying to tell us how GREAT Florida weather is. Florida weather SUCKS..... it does today , it will tomorrow.

Coastal Floridian summers are the best. Not overly hot, nice and humid. Surf temperatures in the 80s*F. The coastal Gulf states are nice too. Hawaii is definitely the best.
We have ice cold A/C everywhere, a lifestyle already built for this type weather 24/7/275 and nice ocean breezes right on the east coast
I have ice cold AC in Indiana too. The problem is I'd rather live where it's in the upper 60s-lower 70s so I don't need AC, and can live with the windows open all day and all night. That and I can't sit on my lovely deck, walk my dog, or ride my bike when it's 80 and humid.
I'll take two hours of shoveling sidewalks and driveways over 24 hours of heat and humidity.
I am as far south now as I ever want to live, but thanx anyway for the invite.

Surf temps in the 80's is like swimming in hot bath water ..its gross. Not overly hot and humid ...? So the temp doesnt go to 100 degrees, that doesn't mean a THING. its like living in a permanent suana... You live there? Good for you...the rest of us are thankful we don't. Enjoy the poisonous snakes and spiders too...what a pleasure.

YES. Dangerous animals, warm water, warm weather > frigid weather, frigid water, short growing season. I'm still alive, and so are the billions of people who live in warm climates. How many people live in the arctic?
