Most winter mornings in Australind are too cold for my tastes, despite our avg lows being about 8 C/46 F.
Funny thing is, Brisbane's lows aren't much better, so considering that I'm pretty content being here.
Our average winter high is a touch cooler at 17 C/63 F,
but I'd prefer milder winter nights than warmer winte days, if I had to only pick one.
No doubt about it…Alexandria is one of the best BWh climates out there:
Winters are mild (mean temps in the 13 – 15 C range/55 F ), rainfall is low, and sunshine plentiful. Alexandria seems to avoid one of the biggest pitfalls of the BWh climate sector - intense summer heat. This is likely due to geography (nearness to Mediterranean Sea). In fact, when you look at Alexandria’s numbers – it looks more like a Cs station, than a BWh station. It reminds me alot of inland Cs southeastern California (Riverside, Moreno Valley,…etc). Riverside, CA has just about the same monthly mean temps/annual rainfall/sunshine…and is also on the border of a Cs and BWh zone.
D for depressingly dry. I really don't enjoy dry climates and landscapes, although I don't mind holidays in such places. The sunshine is too high as well. the temps look ok though.
I would have given an A-, but, since many climates in the Med / Middle East tend to have high summer humidity in spite of being bone dry, I decided to check the average dewpoints on wunderground.com:
Sure enough, this place is sweltering (average high dewpoint of 23 C, average low dewpoint of 20 C). The high summer humidity is deceptive given that Alexandria's four warmest months have essentially no rainfall (mean < 1 mm). So Alexandria basically has tropical summers without the heavy rainfall and cloud.
For me, such high temps combined with high humidity and 12 hours of sun per day is just too much. Hence, I give it a B-.
The humidity is why I gave it an F. I always thought Alexandria was cooler... I don't know how I came to that conclusion.

Thanks for the added information. I'm definitely lowering my rating for this climate. The winter, spring, and fall are still nice, but due to the very humid summers, I'm lowering my rating to a C-.
A. Only thing stopping this from getting an A+ is that all the precip is rain. This really would be a nice place to live. Perfect Mediterranian climate.
