In China there is an idiom "Shu dogs bark at the sun"
Shu was a kingdom located in today's Sichuan province, and later became a short name for Sichuan.
“Shu dogs” refer to those who react too much at normal things.
July and August in Nanchong are very hot though. The average temperature may not look too bad, but that's because it rains a lot. When it is sunny, 35+ C is the norm, and it's always humid.
