Climate statistics for Australian locations

I have a feeling Stanthorpe will be rated a lot higher than Mount Isa. Stanthorpe is one of the coldest towns in Queensland, being near the southern border of the state and at an elevation of 784m.

The highest temperature recorded is 38C/100F and the lowest recorded is -10.6C/13F. Snow does fall there every 3 or 4 years, but it rarely lies on the ground for long.

I rate it a C+. The main reason is because the summer is not warm enough for my liking, especially at night. Last December was horrible there with a max of 13.5C/56F recorded on one day:Stanthorpe, Qld - December 2011 - Daily Weather Observations
It could also do with a little more rain as well.

Solid B. The best climate Queensland has to offer. Still a tad too warm in all seasons for my liking though. Go a little further south into NSW and we get towards "A-" territory such as Armidale (A-) and Walcha (A).

C for me. Living in a place in Queensland that cold is like going on a tropical vacation and staying in an air-conditioned shopping mall the whole time.

The climate is a slightly moderated version of a New England/northern Tablelands type climate. Check out Guyra, one of the highest towns in Oz, which regularly sees the white stuff.

A-, nice climate but prefer Toowoomba over this for more moderate temps.

C... summers look ok but winter minimums of 1° how appalling for a place at 28° latitude inland and even if it's at a slightly higher elevation...

B-. Temps are good, but low rainfall detracts from this climate.

Surprisingly good for Queensland, but it's still way too warm for me. Summers are too hot, and winters are way too warm and devoid of snowfall. There's also little variation. I give it a grade of F. It may be the best Queensland has to offer, but it's still lousy.

I'll give this a C, winter minimums acceptable, record low -11C, very impressive.
