The trees are really getting colorful around here also...well, as colorful as it can get in North Texas!
What website are you looking at for those models 940? I've looked at two and although a front is supposed to move through this afternoon, it's only supposed to drop into the 50s for lows and then back up into the mid 70s (for highs) again by the weekend. This is really, really warm weather we're having. As you said, 20 degrees above normal.

The lowest low in the next five days I could find was 40 and I believe that is tomorrow night.
We average our first freeze here around November 17th, but that ain't going to happen this year, at least I think not.

I'm glad you finally got rain aiangel_writer!

I am so ready for cooler weather. I want to get rid of the geckos! One scampered across the kitchen floor yesterday morning. I don't remember us having geckos this late in the season before!

Yeah, glad your area got needed rain, ai-angel!

I woke up this morning to almost bare trees thanks to a lovely 36mph wind gusting to 45mph! Rather mild this week. Our airport won't get it's first official freeze for another week. Only 3 weeks later than normal....most burbs have had a freeze though and last year we had a freeze in Mid-October, so mother nature is just evening out I suppose.

Unfortunately! Some people consider them a good thing because they eat insects. Personally, I'd rather have the insects!

Oh, aren't those winds ferocious? It's been roaring all day today. Yesterday it came up in the afternoon and it was awful.

This morning TWC said that there were 95 mph wind gusts in Hermosa, SD yesterday and 127 in a Wyoming town. Our whole area seemed like it would blow away. It did a bit of damage like push a couple of semis off the road, overturn a construction trailer, etc., but it's surprising that worse things didn't happen. Just wish those winds would calm down.

I get my forecast models from the National Weather Service for my particular zip code/area...I'm practically in Denton and it's quite a bit cooler sometimes than DFW Airport where official readings are taken.

7-Day Forecast for Latitude 33.18N and Longitude -97.11W (Elev. 646 ft)

We've also already had frost here but not an official freeze..one morning a few weeks ago here near Denton, it was 35 degrees...I just saw NBC 5 and they're forecasting 39 here tonight...and a chance of frost tomorrow night.

Which day was this? (date?)

I don't think we've had sustained winds past 20-25 mph, even for a single day in over a week.
I think once this month (for a few hours) we had sustained winds approaching 35-40mph, gusts approaching 50 mph.

Oops, I think I remember a day they had tornado warnings for parts of the northern U.S. not far from Ontario, but not in Ontario.

Canadian, the strong winds out west were Tues. But they're still roaring today, too although I don't believe as intense as before. FINALLY, they're supposed to die down tonight.

Yes, the winds will die down tonight and it's supposed to be nice and sunny with temps about 60 tomorrow. Just like today, but less wind
