The December update should be coming out soon,.

This is for November.

The Northern Hemisphere snow cover extent during November 2012 was above-average, ranking as the fifth largest on record for the month, and marked the fourth consecutive November with above-average snow cover for the hemisphere

This blogger claims it might be due to less Arctic sea ice. Not convinced but an interesting ides.

Looking for winter weirdness 5 - Arctic Sea Ice

Three of the five highest positive anomalies for December have all occurred in the last four years. It does indeed make sense that all of that open water in the Arctic Ocean has something to do with it.
