I take Stockholm. It has longer shoulder seasons, Moscow has really just two seasons, winter and summer. Also those Stockholm averages are from the 1961-1990 period, so I figure April, May, October and November averages are a bit higher these days. June again a little bit cooler.
Moscow has had really frigid winters the last few years, while Stockholm has had a stable snow cover, but temps just a bit below freezing.
Generally speaking both are not very desirable as the sunmers are weak, and the anchor seasons too cold. If I had to choose, it would be Moscow colder winters, and can at times see decent warmth in the summer. Plus the had a month which had an average high around 32C back in 2010
Chicken pox and pneumonia are hardly comparable are they! Jesus!
Anyway, Moscow for me. Winter's cold in both places, but at least Moscow has more potential for heat. That crazy Russian heatwave a few years ago, really was truly incredible.
Weak summers overall, especially stockholm, July would feel like may here....
I guess I prefer Moscow due to the more seasonal pattern, BUT these winter sunshine statistics are really creepy... Now when I think that some people in the US consider our winters to be gloomy with less than 100 hours of sunshine in January, i wonder what they would think about a Moscow January...
The hardest to take is not the cold but the lack of sun IMO...
Give me north american "russian" climates (ie Minneapolis) anyday over that... At least they are very sunny and have warm summers...
