This place have weather stations both along the Rana fjord and at the inland valleys. The town is located at the head of a long and narrow fjord, quite some distance from the sea, so is semi - inland.
Mo airport is located 9 km away from the fjord /in the valley. Coldest minimum temperature last 12 months is -22.5C on January 25. Max temp last 12 months: 28.3C on May 31.
Storforshei (110m asl) is located another 11 km into the valley and 20 km from the fjord. Coldest minimum temp last 12 months: -26.9C on Dec 7. Warmest: 28.8C on May 31.
Skamdal (5m asl) is located along the fjord, 14 km from the town, but still the innermost fjord area. Coldest minimum temp last 12 months: -13.8C on March 13. Warmest: 28.3C on May 31. http://www.yr.no/place/Norway/Nordla...tatistics.html
So the airport, only 9 km from the fjord, had a minima 9C colder than Skamdal near the fjord, and the minima at Storforshei 20 km from the fjord was 13C colder. Maximum temperatures were not that different. Even a narrow fjord far from the sea moderates minimum temperatures in winter.
Warmest in the country today: 23.2C Landvik (Grimstad), south coast.
Coldest: -3.8C Båtsfjord (152m asl) in the far northeast near the Barents sea.

7C / 44F Overcast, heavy rain today until mid afternoon, rain is forecast for tomorrow as well.
Nearby Buffalo, NY managed some sunshine today and maxed out at a balmy 57F
Windsor, ON did even better topping out at 23C today.
Windsor area is under a severe thunderstorm warming tonight.
Windsor was the warmest today, edging out Kamloops in second spot at 22C
Coldest today....Eureka, Nunavut at -24C
