I'm cold intolerant so I'd wear something like this. It's Tokyo back in January. It's about 2 am so the temperature is about 3c although since this is the subway station, it's about 25c.

4 °C doesn't feel cold (at least to me). Breathing is amazing at that temperature, and there is an awesome coolish feeling on the skin! It feels warm in the spring and cool in the autumn/fall, so it's always a pleasant temperature for me (even though I like 10 °C temperatures more).

Temperatures below -15 °C feel horrible to me, so I guess I'm not that tolerant.

Its all relative to what you are used to. We had a very cold winter here in the far north central United States along the Canadian border and 40 degrees not uncommon for me to wear shorts with a light coat. It would all depend though on wind and how long outside. If a 30 mph wind then 40 deg would need a jacket.

But I live in a cold climate where below 0C occurs for about 4 months...so above 0C days once spring arrives is welcome by most.

4 °C (40 °F) feels a lot warmer than like -20 °C (-4 °F). It doesn't even feel "biting", so why not use light clothing? of course, if the wind is blowing, the not at all.

If it's higher than 20 °F (-6.7 °C) I usually don't cover my face but I still put a winter hat and gloves. I think you're very normal and almost identical to me, but I don't wear any hats or gloves until the temperature dips below about 14°F(-10°C).

You're hardy, ahah if I don't wear my gloves and hat at 15 °F (-9.4 °C) I'll have to say goodbye to my hands and ears,

Today I was outside at 10C, and my hands went purple and numb. I usually always wear gloves up to 10C.

Was there a strong wind? usually my hands won't suffer unless it's below freezing.
