I would up the high end by 10 F for a true summer feel, but that's about the highest I want it.

Lows below 60F seem to happen in this region frequently in June, especially early June, sometimes towards the end of August, and infrequently in July. It is not unusual for us not to drop below 60F at all in July, so I can only imagine it's less likely for NYC to do so with its UHI. 95F, on the other hand, seems to happen quite frequently in summer these days, especially in July. In fact, I'm often puzzled by those who insist August is the worst summer month, because the last few years it's seemed all the real heat has occurred in July, and by August it's not as bad. Add to that the fact that the sun angle is worse in July than in August, and July is easily my least favorite month.

Exactly. If it's going to be a hot day, I can't imagine a worse environment to be in than the city. The heat we get in summer makes for great beach weather, but that's about it as far as I'm concerned. The rest of the time it's pointless to suffer through it when you're not on the beach.

But just because the heat isn't bad, doesn't mean it has to get chilly at night. You could have a more comfortable day with low diurnal range, like high 83 low 74.

And I never noticed how lopsided our temperatures are, 95F seems way more common than high 50's in the summer.

59F is my average July low. There's nothing uncomfortable about it. It's just around sunrise, but if you happen to be outside at that time, yes you might not want to wear shorts and a T-shirt. Not really a big deal.

Our average low in our hottestmonth here is below that by a number of degrees. It doesn't feel cold at all, it's refreshing. It must be the urban heat island or oceanic moderation or something that makes your nights so warm.

To the OP: seriously, instead of just posing a thread question, why don't you just look up the answer. It's really not hard. I could find the answer in one minute at this point with these threads, I feel like I'm doing other people's work. Otherwise, it reads as starting threads for the purpose of starting threads.
