Wish I could have this day stored to relive. Was in between 2 thunderstorms driving around town this afternoon. Lots of cloud-to-ground. One place I went there was hot glowing sun but yet the other side of the sky was metallic dark and above the traffic noise I could feel big thunder like a cannon shooting. Being far inland and with all the organized frontal-type weather we've experienced this summer, the spontaneity of today's system was surreal and fascinating.

What's even more surprising is that with all this convective action going on, the dewpoint is still only 63F.

Sounds like something I'm saying today as well... And I'm learning something else...

A deep trough couldn't do it but Clouds and an East wind can.

Mid afternoon in the Dog Days of Summer and it's in the 60s on Long Island, coastal CT, RI, MA.

I swear I'm in that "get ready for fall mode" I feel I'll be taking apart the garden and starting the wood stove soon. LOL!

Bridgeport, CT at 69°. Last time they failed to go above low 70s was June 13th!

So apparently the Upper Level Low, Jet Stream Dip, Trough cool air didn't get us cool here but clouds and an East wind does. One word.... FINALLY!

We had a severe thunderstorm warning here while I was at work but the storm dodged us, apparently.

Yes, relentless.. more heat for the PNW
I'd love for highs to stay in the 26-30ºC range but that doesn't seem to be happening

I'm in Banff, Alberta right now. I was watching the Calgary weather forecast on TV and they kept saying how "muggy" it felt outside. I looked up the weather and temperature was 75 F, dew point 49. What is wrong with these people?
