Seen from here, Barcelona's winters seem to be very sunny.
However, one think I don't like about Barcelona is that it is pretty muggy in the summer. When I was there, dewpoints were constatnly around 21-22c, with temps around 27c. Not my favourite type of summer weather.
Wow, really? Never would have thought that a Mediterranean climate, and a climate that north in latitude, would experience such conditions. Sydney barely manages dewpoints over 19C!

Really? Posters living along the Mediterranean have mentioned high dew points throughout the summer and there've been thread discussing the high dewpoints along the Mediterranean in the summer.

I know. I'm aware that the Mediterranean is humid. But I thought it was more like 17C-19C (DP) humid, not not above 20C. I thought for dry regions like the Mediterranean, people there would "perceive" humidity even when the dewpoints aren't that high (or akin to the East Coast of the US).
Even we average 15C dew points in mid summer, so places along the Mediterranean are usually above 20C. They can be very consistently high in all parts of the med, this July I went to Corfu and temperatures were 34C-39C by day and 24C-28C at night with dew points up to 27C.. The place is a steam bath in summer, it felt like I was in a jungle
I remember my flight back, at 1am it was still 32C
I didn't realize London averaged that high. Weatherspark shows 15°C as the daily high dewpoint (is that midday or evening?). I think posters have said Mediterranean climates tend to have the lowest dewpoints of the day during the midday.

The Mediterranean water temperatures reach 27°C in the summer, anywhere nearby can get dewpoints nearly as high.
Barcelona. Isn't even a contest for me. I love that city and the climate. I just wish they got rain in the summer and thunderstorms. Their winter is perfect.
Oh, and giant CIDP's everywhere lol. And they look great.
In August Barcelona gets 2 inches..... Isn't that enough?

Some areas of the mediterranean are drier, like Marseille for instance, but here in Italy it can get very muggy. When I was in calabria last July the dewpoints were often around 25-27c. I was often feeling sleepy outside after a two minute walk.
Also, not mediterranean, but near the Po river up here similar figures are achieved every summer.
Australia has the advantage of having a desert nearby (or the drawback, depending on your preference)
