Storms started to build up early yesterday.

This picture was taken about 12:30 PM. A heavy downpour hit about 1:30 PM with a little thunder.

A second storm developed later in the afternoon with more thunder.

Apart from the storm in July it was a boring year for convection here yet again with the fewest days with thunder heard since 2010. Thankfully I got some thunder in the SE but it seems like that's it for the year now.

Thunder nearby, but it seems like the storm is just missing us. Rained for half a minute.

And again with thunder... Now 4 friggin hours. There must be some insane amount of lift over me that these storms are redeveloping and intensifying. Worst storm in years.

WHOAA!! I've always wanted to see a storm over me from a distance. This is from Long Island facing into CT

Church got hit. I assume more things with the amount of C2G lightning that was around. Sick.

The amount of people saying they are going into the basement because storm is so intense is crazy. From NJ to CT to MA. sounds like the atmosphere is pissed off summer is over. Lightning is insane with most cells out there.

Hopefully there wasn't too much damage.

My church was hit by lightning two weeks ago. Fortunately, it didn't cause that much damage. There are lightning rods going up to the top.

When lightning struck the same church ten years ago, there was more damage. Bricks fell off the clock tower and the sound system was damaged. The lightning strike happened right before Mass.

I put together the radar since I been hearing thunder and seeing storms since 2pm.
Most severe here 4-5:30 (1.5hrs worth!) Notice the most recent one. Another warning out just north of me. Hearing thunder. But with tv and A/C my dog is relaxed and peaceful.

Look at the 3pm and 5pm frame. It took 2 hours for that line of storms to move to the coast. WOW!

My cousin who lives under that warning just told me he's got golf ball size hail and the most vivid lightning he's seen. So many people are saying the same thing from NJ, NY, CT and MA with the cells out there. What is up with the atmosphere today. Gees
