@nei: That's right, must have been around noon. I have lived in Tromsø and know how good it feels to have the sun back.
A little sidetrack: In Norwegian, "nei" means "no"!

That comment can relate to big snows being shown for this area as well.

I noticed there hasn't been much digging down south lately so the real cold air is staying north of you.

Latest Canadian 12z model keeps the snow spirits alive for this area.
Since theres not much else exciting to post about.. I drew the potential tracks of them.

22nd Clipper rounds the base 1-3" snow
25th Big storm Miss
27th Clipper rounding the base of trough again 1-3" snow
29th Another clipper rounding the base! 2-4" snow

Notice how far down the 850mb freezing line goes on last frame. But of course....its 10 days away.

You all know what I believe...

We'll see.

Reached 54F again with total blue dome sky. Beautiful.

This week I am reminded of 2012.

10/5°C and overcast today in Nice. Colder at work. First time I've seen drizzle here I think. The snowline is much lower than during the previous rain episodes.

How do the locals deal?! I assume they're bundled up as much as they can?

ome interesting stats on how this cold season’s running to date. While the average Jan 1-18 temp of 17.4-deg in Chicago essentially equals the average here over the same period a year ago, meteorological winter–the period which began Dec 1–is 6-degrees “milder” than the same period a year ago which has cut home heating usage for the season as a whole 12% below last year
