Turned out to be a decent Labor Day. No BBQ's ruined by rain. Sun was shinning too. High was 85F at MDW and 82F at ORD. My suburb also reached 85 degrees (29C).
101 F near Fayettville, North Carolina = wow. If you add in the high dew points today, it must have felt like well over 110 F in eastern North Carolina
I live in SC and yeah it was near 100. I will be so glad when the weather cools off. I wish I lived in the mid-west or west where the weather is cooler!
Many areas have temps in the 80's and 90's F, my current temp is 88 F. Only Upper Midwest and upper West Coast seems have coolish weather (60's F):
What?
Your map showed 64F in Duluth, 70F in SW KS, and hardly anything north of 95F anywhere. Labor Day is more like late summer in a lot of the country anyway.
I enjoyed the temps on Labor day here in Denver (HI 80 °F / 27 °C LO 50 °F / 10 °C). Sunny, light winds, and mostly in the low to mid 70s most of the day until about 2-4pm. We get a quick warm up the next two days and cool down again.
Today (Tuesday) it's going to be 93F with 74 Dewpoint.
