Reached 18 degrees late on this arvo. The last 6 days was otherwise the grottiest week of summer, more or less no sunshine and highs of 12-15 degrees. Now it looks to be near average this next week, which in the context of this summer so far, is an improvement.
How on earth do you get these cold temperatures relatively commonly but record less snowfall than areas below 26N in North America where winter lows average in the 50's?

here it was rainy the whole day yesterday with continuous light rain and many short and heavy rainfall intervalls. I perceived that day as exceptionally rainy but it cumulated to meagre 14.7 mm. so 200 mm is unimaginable to me.
