Just got the alert. Wonder if they will upgrade from a watch to a warning. Surprised Upton pulled the trigger earlier then NWS Boston

No, but JB isn't going by analogs as much as he is using the MJO signature. Phase two means colder conditions for the eastern 2/3rds, then second half of month going into December Phase three, which means warmer for Great Lakes/Northeast

Could October become the second month in a row (and only 4th month this year) to be above average for Chicago? We have a bullseye for well above normal temps coming up per Euro model.
