From what I understand the Asheville winter is colder but much sunnier and with more possibility for spurts of spring-like warmth, while the Vancouver winter is milder but very dank. I think Vancouver gets a little bit more snow or a similar amount.

Asheville by far for being drier and much sunnier. I strongly dislike Vancouver's frequent cold rain.

Vancouver without a doubt. cool, damp, moderated winters versus high variation with higher possibility for brutal, cold, dry Canadian air... no thanks. Asheville gets more Canadian air than Vancouver.

Vancouver.

I hate too much sunlight, particularly in winter.

Asheville, it lacks the excessive precipitation of Vancouver.

Lol, the air in Vancouver is by definition "Canadian air".
